Juan de la Cierva 2016
Mass spectrometric characterization of labile protein posttranslational modifications
The Proteomics Unit of the Center for Genomic Regulation and Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain) is looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a (bio-)chemistry background to apply to the “Juan de la Cierva 2016” call from the Ministerio de Economia, Industria y Competitividad.
A PhD obtained during 2012-2016, and a good publication record are required for success in this call. Candidates that have obtained the PhD degree in the same institute or university that they want to join for the postdoc should at least have worked 12 months in a different research institute or university after receiving the PhD and prior to the call deadline.
The candidate will work in a project focused on development of new analytical methods to characterize the structure of labile protein modifications in complex cell lysates and purified proteins using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry-based techniques. The development of the proposed methods will be followed by the functional characterization of these modifications in biological environments and the definition of their role in specific cellular processes and disease states.
